CCROP

OBJECTIVE: In the Central Valley, work with parents and students in two to three school districts in each target county* and one school in each subcontract area* to ensure that the community has a place at the table and can advocate for school and community health issues in the LCFF dialogue and decision making.

  • NAACP will work with Taylor Elementary School and community leaders to facilitate changes in school wellness policies in schools.
  • Educate parents about a prevention-oriented health system and healthier communities by strengthening the LINK between healthcare and community health.  We also want to improve personal behaviors through environmental conditions for better health outcomes and by advancing a community-collaborative prevention and the practice of health equity.
  • Engage school officials (i.e. County Offices of Ed, superintendents.
  • School board members to assist with building support and technical assistance for parents and students.
  • NAACP Identified Taylor School who is already making environmental changes to support parent needs addressed at community forums related to  the LCAP.
  • CCROPP Leads will provide technical assistance to support efforts.
