In response to the coronavirus pandemic the local, state, and federal government imposed moratoriums on evictions and foreclosures to assist tenants, homeowners and investors affected by COVID-19. The NAACP Stockton Branch has provided a list of resources available below.
What is a Moratorium?
A moratorium is a temporary suspension of an activity or a law until future events warrant lifting the suspension or related issues have been resolved. Moratoriums are often enacted in response to temporary financial hardships.
If you cannot pay all or part of your rent due to loss of income, contact your landlord, in writing within 7 days of rent being due. If you receive an eviction notice, after contacting your landlord, please contact the NAACP Stockton Branch at (209) 466-7000. No residential tenant in the City of Stockton shall be evicted due to COVID-19
Some Financial Institutions are offering mortgage payment relief for 90 days to borrowers economically impacted by COVID-19. Borrowers will need to contact their financial institution to see if they're eligible for relief.
